Role Purpose Statement
At our San Francisco operation, excellence in food production starts with exceptional leadership. Our San Francisco team is looking for an Operations Manager to lead the Cold Food Department, managing frontline leadership and production teams responsible for delivering safe, high-quality products to our customers. This role requires a strong collaborator who can build partnerships across departments, drive continuous improvement, and create a culture of accountability, safety, and exceptional service while ensuring daily production goals are achieved.
Location: near San Francisco International Airport - SFO

Main Accountabilities
- Operations Leadership: Manage, train, and schedule cold food production leadership team and hourly staff to meet daily output goals.
- Food Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to HACCP, FDA, USDA, and OSHA regulations, ensuring proper temperature controls and hygiene.
- Production Management: Oversee the assembly and preparation of cold items, maintaining quality control, and ensuring on-time delivery.
- Accountability and oversight to customer regarding customer complaints concerning or related to food.
- Inventory & Equipment: Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper maintenance of equipment.
- Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks, document processes, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Maintain an ongoing, positive and pro-active relationship with all internal and external customers
- Attend the daily operations briefing
- Ensure par levels of customer inventory and customer specific goods
- Initiate and control continuous optimization of processes
Leadership
- Coach, mentor, and develop food department’s leadership team.
- Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Three to five years of directly related experience required in a management role
- 1-3+ years in food production environment
- Strong understanding of HACCP protocols, and food safety regulations.
- Strong communication, leadership, and troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience in using and managing Variable Production Systems and schedules
- Strong presentation, communication, training and interpersonal skills
- Proven success in improving work processes and leading change in a complex, fast environment
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills
- Demonstrable record of understanding and meeting customer expectations
- Proven track record of understanding the drivers of product and labor cost variances
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer application
