The Opportunity

We're looking for an entry-level Ramp Safety Coordinator who is interested in airport operations, wants to build a safety career, or is ready for a new challenge on a strong safety team that works around aircraft every day.In this role, you will help make sure drivers follow safety procedures and that our teams stay compliant with the rules. You will inspect the airport ramp, buildings, and vehicles, and help confirm that every location completes its regular safety checks. You will help train employees on safety, lead short safety talks with teams, and keep driver records up to date. You will also help manage our vehicles so they meet state, federal, and airport requirements, take part in safety audits, help look into workplace incidents, and make sure hazards are spotted and reported quickly.

Main Accountabilities

•    Responsible for SOP training for all new drivers and re-training of drivers
•    Responsible for updating and maintaining all driver files
•    Processing of all Port Authority/Customs identifications
•    Ensure all State inspections, registrations and Insurance ID’s for trucks are current
•    Responsible for ensuring all drivers adhere to A-1 Inspection procedures
•    Assist the Ramp Safety Supervisor as needed and perform other clerical duties as assigned
 

What We Look For in a Candidate

•    High School Diploma or equivalent
•    Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain Airport SIDA badge and CBP Customs Seal within 30 days of hire
•    3-5 years of safety experience preferred; AOA ramp experience may be substituted year for year for Safety experience
•    Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and other computer applications
•    Ability to work with minimum supervision
•    Strong analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills
•    Detail oriented
•    Ability to work in a fast paced environment with large groups – must be flexible
