Role Purpose Statement
This is a Hybrid Operations Supervisor role overseeing both Assembly and Warehouse Operations. The position is responsible for supervising and developing frontline staff, ensuring the on-time and accurate production and catering of flights, managing inventory and materials, overseeing the loading of carts with beverages and equipment, and maintaining strong customer relationships.
Ideal Candidate will have Previous supervisory experience in warehouse, manufacturing, airline catering, logistics, food production, transportation, or distribution environments. Strong experience leading frontline teams in a fast-paced operation. Knowledge of inventory management, labor planning, safety compliance, and operational performance metrics. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting strict deadlines. Hands-on leadership style with strong coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills.
The primary shift is days, however, a flexible schedule with the ability to support operational needs outside standard business hours when required.
Main Accountabilities
Operations & Team Leadership
• Supervise daily department activities within the CSC (Customer Service Center).
• Conduct daily team meetings to communicate priorities, staffing plans, safety topics, and performance expectations.
• Manage labor resources to maximize productivity and operational efficiency.
• Schedule and oversee employees to meet productivity goals while controlling overtime costs.
• Conduct daily manpower planning and adjust staffing levels as business demands change.
• Ensure the department is properly organized, staffed, and operating effectively.
• Coach, mentor, and develop employees while fostering a positive and accountable work environment.
• Support performance management, career development, and the Global Performance System (GPS) process.
Production, Catering & Flight Operations
• Ensure the on-time and accurate production, assembly, and catering of all flights.
• Oversee loading of carts with beverages, equipment, and supplies according to customer specifications.
• Monitor daily operations to ensure Kitchen Ready Times and service-level commitments are achieved.
• Support account management activities and maintain positive customer relationships.
• Ensure the delivery system between departments operates efficiently and effectively.
Compliance, Quality & Safety
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, HACCP, and customer standards.
• Conduct daily safety audits (A1s) and drive a culture of workplace safety.
• Monitor compliance with ramp safety regulations and operational procedures.
• Maintain required documentation and implement process improvements to enhance performance and compliance.
• Ensure food production and assembly activities meet all airline specifications and food safety requirements.
• Maintain the Knife Log and ensure compliance with company knife policies.
Inventory & Materials Management
• Supervise inventory requisition, issuance, return processing, and product handling.
• Participate in determining inventory par levels and order quantities based on airline specifications, menu requirements, and vendor lead times.
• Monitor product usage, waste, and yield to support food cost controls.
• Participate in monthly inventory counts and reconciliation activities.
• Maintain equipment storage rooms and oversee proper handling and storage of operational equipment.
Continuous Improvement & Financial Management
• Participate in and support company initiatives, including:
o HACCP
o GQS
o Lean Manufacturing
o Employee Safety Programs
o CBase
• Manage departmental budgets and labor costs within assigned areas.
• Analyze operational performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- 2 to 3 years of previous supervisory experience in warehouse, manufacturing, airline catering, logistics, food production, transportation, or distribution environments.
- Strong experience leading frontline teams in a fast-paced operation.
- Knowledge of inventory management, labor planning, safety compliance, and operational performance metrics.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting strict deadlines.
- Hands-on leadership style with strong coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), FDA, USDA and EPA regulations
- Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills required along with the ability to multi-task
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
